Warrenton VA Traditional Kitchen Transformation

Project Year: 2016 | Project Cost: $200,001 – $500,000 | Location: Warrenton, VA | Zip Code: 20186

The original kitchen featured dark red cherry cabinets, a tiny island, and black appliances. The homeowners, both doctors with four children and jam-packed schedules, wanted a kitchen that was more open and bright with state of the art appliances.

Following extensive showroom research, we concluded that Pennville Custom Cabinetry was our best choice for well-constructed cabinets. Further, Pennville’s proprietary “Parisian Inset” with 5/4 face frame construction wowed the homeowners, and after seeing it in another venue, no further “looking” was needed.

The original kitchen layout included a diagonal bar height knee wall that divided the kitchen from the breakfast area. This wall was eliminated completely, and the column supporting the beam above was integrated into a new island that transitioned with an open walkway into the breakfast area (adjacent to french patio doors).

Another special design element included the 18″ deep base cabinet area on the opposite wall. This housed an 18-deep custom paneled Perlick Signature Series Sottile collection refrigerator. Perlick’s shallow version offered us the opportunity to create a functional wall with shallow base cabinets and a refrigerator “built in” behind a custom panel — allowing the kids to easily access beverages and snacks without interfering in the kitchen’s work triangle.
